The Institute for Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowships was established to support and promote the primary goals and objectives of the Rutgers Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowship Program. Namely, these are to (i) provide specialized training and experience within the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries, and (ii) enhance and promote the role of pharmacists in industry. Specifically, the Institute provides leadership and administrative support for the Fellowship Program:
Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, with more than 50,000 students in its three campuses, is one of the major state university systems in the nation.
The College of Pharmacy was founded in 1892 as the New Jersey College of Pharmacy and was incorporated into the University in 1927.
As the only pharmacy program in the State of New Jersey, the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy currently enrolls approximately 1,200 students in both undergraduate and graduate programs.
The Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy occupies a 110,000 square foot, six story, modern brick building located on the Busch Campus. Adjacent to the University is the University of Medicine and Dentistry-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and the Library of Science and Medicine.
Because of its close proximity to the nation's leading drug manufacturers, the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy is uniquely capable of providing its students and fellows with exposure to the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries.
